About Anthony Graves

I offer psychotherapy and psychoanalysis in a non-judgmental approach that sensitively attends to issues of race, gender, sexuality, class, and culture.

In addition to my work in psychoanalysis and my clinical work at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Training and Research (IPTAR) as an advanced candidate, I have a over two-decades experience as a practicing artist in the US and abroad, and have taught courses in Theory and Criticism at NYU, The New School, Parsons, Rhode Island School of Design, and Cornell University. I served as faculty at SOMA Summer, a post-graduate program for artists in Mexico City, and director from 2018–2019. I participate in an ongoing series of research groups on issues of race, gender, class, and sexuality in psychoanalytic theory.

I am currently part-time faculty at NYU Steinhardt and maintain a private practice and a clinical practice at Therabridge, in Manhattan. I am the IPTAR reporter for the Confederation of Independent Psychoanalytic Societies (CIPS) and supervise developing clinicians in the extern program at IPTAR. I also offer private supervision.

Affiliations:
